About One 20 Care
Group One 20’s passion for caring for people with intellectual disabilities started after I had a 3-day stay in the hospital from when I had my first child. They assigned me a volunteer. She was a very nice, honorable lady named Megan.
Megan was warm, gentle, compassionate, and a great sense of humor. Megan made me feel the love and warmth from her. She gave me fresh water, snacks, helped me with my meals, assisted me to my shower, and covered me up when I wanted to be warm. She also talked to me to keep me company. Megan made me smile, laugh, and feel good. She was one of the nicest persons ever in my life that I met.
I laid in the bed one night and said to myself, “This is what I want to do. Care for people.” I chose people with intellectual disabilities to make someone’s day brighter.
